I strongly oppose the installation of any large scale wind power generation facility which has been, or may be, proposed by Superior Wind Energy Inc., or any competing wind power developer, for the top of the Niagara Escarpment/Blue Mountain landscape and the surrounding rural community near Collingwood , Ontario. I ask that all Government incentives, benefits and other forms of support available to any developer in respect of the proposed “Blue Highlands” wind power generation facility (whether in the form of grants, incentive payments, tax holidays, tax breaks, power purchase agreements or otherwise) be deferred, pending a full environmental assessment (rather than merely a screening) of the impacts of the proposed “Blue Highlands” project on the Blue Mountain community, its residents, its cherished Niagara Escarpment landscape and the diverse ecosystem with which the community interacts.
